Christina Karahisarlidis

School Partnerships Manager

Christina holds an M.A. in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University and a B.S. in English Education from New York University. She has nearly a decade of experience spanning NYC public school classrooms and nonprofit program management. Christina started her career as a secondary English Language Arts teacher in the NYC DOE before she transitioned to education nonprofits and she puts student success at the heart of everything she does.

Christina believes that when students are given opportunities to create, collaborate, and solve real-world problems, they build confidence and lasting skills. This belief continues to drive Christina’s work at LYI in expanding access to engaging, project-based learning experiences for all students. 

Christina currently lives on Long Island with her husband and their energetic toddler son. She enjoys reading, watching reality TV, and trying new sweet treats.
